Date: May 27th, 2012 (Pentecost)
Delivered at: The United Church of Underhill (UCC and UMC)
Key Text(s): Acts 2:1-21
In this dramatic monologue, we hear from Cleopas who, according to ch. 24 of Luke’s Gospel, walked with Jesus for a time on the road to Emmaus after Jesus’ resurrection. Though the Bible does not say, perhaps Cleopas was also there at Jesus’ Ascension, and on the day of Pentecost. What would he have seen and experienced? What would he have been moved to go and do?
Thanks: Special thank you to the UCU Bell Choir for ringing during the reading of Acts, moving from cacophony to harmony, and to Howi Tiller for his script which I adapted for the dramatic monologue.
